Three Steps to Membership

Do you like to sing?  Did you sing in high school or college?  Do you miss it? Would you like to sing a dynamic, performance-oriented musical style with a great bunch of guys?

The Singing Capital Chorus may be for you!  All of our rehearsals are open to guests of all ages and experience levels.  While the ability to read music is helpful, it is not a requirement, as learning CDs and downloadable part-predominate recordings for all repertoire songs are provided free of charge.

Step 1
If you think you might be interested in becoming a member of the Singing Capital Chorus, just come to one of our rehearsals. If you like what you see and hear, attend 3 consecutive rehearsals, and talk to our Membership Chairman, who will fill you in on the details.

Step 2
A member of our music team will help you decide on a voice part.

All you need to do is be able to carry a tune and, if you're singing a part other than the melody, be able to harmonize (after all, we sing barbershop harmony).

We provide free learning media (sheet music, CDs and MP3 downloads) to help you learn the songs in our repertoire.

Step 3
When you are ready, you will be asked to sing in a trial quartet. When you do so successfully, you will be voted on by the Board of Directors. At that point, all that is left is turning in an application form.
