The Capital Assets Ensenble is not currently rehearsing or seeking engagements.
In 2006 the idea of a small ensemble of about 12 members was discussed to perform shows that were either too small for the full Singing Capital Chorus or were at a time when the chorus was not available. By the fall of 2006, the Board of Directors created Capital Assets under the direction of John Hohl, then Associate Director of the Singing Capital Chorus. The ensemble is now led by Associate Director Sheryl Berlin.
Capital Assets is comprised of volunteer members selected from the Singing Capital Chorus; in fact, they must remain active with the full chorus to sing with the small ensemble. The performing size of the group is flexible depending on need and availability. The group sings in four-part men's a cappella harmony similar to the full chorus.
Capital Assets is always working on a separate repertoire of songs to challenge its members for the extra work they are contributing to the musical experience in the DC chapter. In return they have the distinction of singing in a more personal setting with more direct and personal training.
The group's repertoire includes:
As Time Goes By
Everybody Loves A Lover
Get Me To The Church On Time
God Bless America
Good Enough for Now
I Didn't Want to Fall
If You Knew Susie
Swinging on a Star
When She Loved Me
